1909 Wisden Paperback – Super Condition
£290.00 £232.00
This is a Super condition 1909 Wisden Paperback. The 46th edition.
This edition comes from the Diana Rait Kerr collection. Rowan Scrope Rait Kerr was the MCC Secretary from 1936 to 1952. His daughter Diana joined him at Lord’s after WW2 to help catalogue and arrange the MCC library. She eventually became Curator of the MCC museum. During her work at Lord’s she also wrote extensively for cricket publications and co-wrote books with Ian Peebles. She was also one of the first women to be offered MCC membership.
She inherited her fathers’ Wisden collection and also built her own. For around 50 almanack years the collection has more than one edition.
The front and rear wrappers are splendid – they are bright and clear and show little sign of being over 115 years-old. The spine is excellent, strong, complete and bright.
The pages within are in super condition.
The photo-plate is present and it is splendid, the facing tissue guard is also lovely.
The page block is in very very good condition.
