1927 Wisden Hardback – Decent Condition
£390.00 £273.00
Thank you for looking at this Decent condition 1927 Wisden Hardback edition. The sixty fourth almanack.
The boards are in decent condition – they are worn and a little aged, there is some bumping to the corners. On the front board there are two small marks (very small) towards the bottom. The spine board is in good condition – there is rubbing to the top and the bottom and like the majority of 1927 editions there are light fold marks upon it – these are not as pronounced as on some.
The gilt to the spine and the front is very very strong.
Internally the front and rear hinges are in good condition and the paste-down pages are also bright – the pages within are in similar condition.
The page block is aged and dusty. there is a small stain on the top of the block, this has gone through only in a very limited way onto the very top of a few internal pages – hardly at all in fact.
Contents Include:
Recollections, by Mr. F.R. Spofforth.
Cricket Reform.
Notes by the Editor.
The Australians in England.
MCC in the West Indies, 1925-1926.
County Champions: Lancashire.
Sheffield Shield: New South Wales.
Currie Cup: Transvaal
“He liked slapstick, but he knew when and at whom to throw the pie. His short, square build, busy movements and low-geared run were made for comedy.”
(R.C. Robertson-Glasgow, on Patsy Hendren)
