1898 Wisden Paperback – SPECIAL

This is a Very Good condition 1898 Paperback Wisden. The 35th edition.

This edition comes from the Diana Rait Kerr collection. Rowan Scrope Rait Kerr was the MCC Secretary from 1936 to 1952. His daughter Diana joined him at Lord’s after WW2 to help catalogue and arrange the MCC library. She eventually became Curator of the MCC museum. During her work at Lord’s she also wrote extensively for cricket publications and co-wrote books with Ian Peebles. She was also one of the first women to be offered MCC membership.
She inherited her fathers’ Wisden collection and also built her own.

The original front and rear wrappers are present and they are in lovely condition – each with some  ageing to the outside edges.  The spine is a professionally-made facsimile and it is, as you would expect,  excellent.

Internally the condition of the pages can be described as lovely – there is some ageing to the outside edges of some pages. The photo-plate and the facing tissue guard are present and they are in very good condition, each has some ageing..

The page block is dusty.
