1908 Wisden Hardback – Unique and Stunning Condition

£1,300.00 £910.00

This is a Stunning condition 1908 Wisden Hardback edition. The 45th edition.

This edition comes from the Diana Rait Kerr collection. Rowan Scrope Rait Kerr was the MCC Secretary from 1936 to 1952. His daughter Diana joined him at Lord’s after WW2 to help catalogue and arrange the MCC library. She eventually became Curator of the MCC museum. During her work at Lord’s she also wrote extensively for cricket publications and co-wrote books with Ian Peebles. She was also one of the first women to be offered MCC membership.
She inherited her fathers’ Wisden collection and also built her own.

This 1908 Wisden Hardback is in excellent condition. The boards are splendid, with minor bumping to the top and bottom of the front, this can be seen on the photograph. Along with the front and rear boards the spine is excellent. The gilt to the front and spine is delightful.

Internally the front and rear hinges are exceptional – this edition still has a strong spring as you open it from the front and the rear. The internal paste-down pages are also super. The pages within are clean and lacking in any ageing

The page block is lovely

One of the best 1908 Hardbacks I have seen in a long time.
