1918 Wisden Hardback – Unique/Signed and Super+ Condition

This is a Super+ condition 1918 Hardback Wisden. The 55th edition.

The boards on this edition are EXCELLENT. It is very very unusual to find an original 1918 Hardback in this condition. There is no bumping or ageing on the boards or the spine, and the gilt on both is exceptional.

This edition is UNIQUE – On the contents page there is an annotation which reads ‘To Hubert Preston from Sydney H Pardon, March 1918’ Sydney H Pardon was the Editor of the 1918. Hubert Preston would have been 50 when it was published. He became Editor for eight editions from 1944.

Internally this is a stunning edition, with excellent internal front and rear hinges and the paste down pages likewise are delightful. The pages within are also stunning.
