1927 Wisden Hardback – Very Very Good
£650.00 £520.00
Thank you for looking at this Very Very Good condition 1927 Wisden Hardback edition. The sixty fourth almanack.
The boards are strong, they are a little aged and have some rubbing and scuffing to the outside edges and corners – but nothing drastic, just general wear. The gilt to both the front and the spine is splendid. The spine board is strong and whilst it also has some light scuffing and rubbing to the edges, it is untypical for this year, not wrinkly or creased – it is lovely.
Internally the front and rear hinges are splendid and the paste-down pages are also super – bright and clean – the pages within are in lovely condition.
The page block is a little dusty and aged to the top, very very good to the side.
Contents Include:
Recollections, by Mr. F.R. Spofforth.
Cricket Reform.
Notes by the Editor.
The Australians in England.
MCC in the West Indies, 1925-1926.
County Champions: Lancashire.
Sheffield Shield: New South Wales.
Currie Cup: Transvaal
“He liked slapstick, but he knew when and at whom to throw the pie. His short, square build, busy movements and low-geared run were made for comedy.”
(R.C. Robertson-Glasgow, on Patsy Hendren)
